This ain’t Texas
This ain’t Texas: Tunnel Luxe: Go West
There have been some great ideas showing through for AW24, including western / cowboy styling, cool plaids, mixing of textures such as denim with wools and wovens. Lots of nice details such as embroideries, badging and casual-smart mixing is showing AW24 to be rather energetic than previous winters. Personal stand out brands being Ouest, Willy Chavarria, Nicholas Daley, Wales Bonner and Pharrell’s Louis Vuitton.
Here’s some of my ideas around this - Anyone ask for a Western styled track suit !?? :) I have taken my love of classic menswear shapes and played around with these trend updates. Playful scales of plaids, western style piping, retro america feel strip ribs and rugged workwear fabric mixes. Streetwear elements keep the vibe younger.

ART & CRAFT
Modernism: The British story.
I've been seeing as much art as possible, getting creative, and connecting with like-minded people. I am super grateful to have this time to re-fuel, enrich myself creatively, take stock and re-focus for 2024
Here are some ideas I've been working on, inspired by a recent trip to Tate Britain, where they have re-hung the entire gallery collection. There is a new room for British Surrealist and Modernist artists, which I'd recommend everyone go see (its free!).
Here I have take some amazing colour palettes and surfaces, and formed some apparel ideas with a clean, modern and premium feel. We have collarless jackets for easy layering, wide-legged denim/ short zip-offs, graphic t-shirts and new-carpenter styled utility shorts.

90s revival
STREETWEAR REVIVAL: BAPTIZM
Here are some concepts I’d been working on for a premium minimalist streetwear brand called BAPTIZM. Inspired by not only the 90s, but my own first-hand experience of growing up in a time of visual abundance. Graphics and shapes were both pushed to the extremes and experimentation was mainstream. Sport met fashion, fashion met sport.
I have also been inspired by MOWALOLA’s recent SS24 collection, shown last week at London Fashion Week, which drew heavily from the 90s, but kept it CLEAN.
This has been more of an experiment, which I will continue to work on. I don’t have any plans to push this into sampling, however it’s something I’m going to keep working on in the background. Gotta keep creative!

CRAFTED MENSWEAR
Crafting a Concept.
Here’s a preview of a brand concept I’ve been working on, around my love of fabrics, yarns, print and classic menswear. In a way, it’s a manifestation of my own sense of style – or at least how I’d like to dress if I had the budget!
I envisage the pieces in handloom / artisanal fabrics, where the human hand is present. Block prints onto chambrays, naturally slubby jerseys etc. The shapes are classic and yet with a twist – what is classic to you in this global age?
All designs, graphics, and shapes by me.

luxe street
Graphic highlight: Luxe Streetwear graphics
Here are a few more concepts I'd created for FEK, to better align the brand with its naturally American vibe. Inspired by mainly American street / sports style, as well as vintage sportswear and premium brands such as Amiri, Heron Preston and Palm Angels. I'd found a cool Panther image on some vintage baseball kits, and did a quick concept mock up using this with some varsity text elements. I did not proceed with this concept as the kit was actually the Black Panther's baseball team's kit! And that wasn't my story to tell. A fun process nevertheless.
The Retro Script design did however proceed onto a hat. Some ideas work better on headwear than on apparel, intended use doesn't always pan out! A Script type graphic has always been a key style within mens graphics, and usually a good seller. For this ideas I wanted to create a slice of Americana, with a nice hand drawn feel script that felt both nostalgic as well as premium.
